How to Fix E-Liquid Leaks from Your Vape TankUpdated 21 days ago

Experiencing e-liquid leaking from your vape tank? This is a common problem but easily solvable. Here’s a detailed guide to help you understand the reasons behind it and how to fix it.

Why is E-Liquid leaking from my vape tank?

Leaking can occur when the tank is not properly sealed, overfilled, or if the coil is damaged. It might also happen due to fluctuations in temperature or pressure that affect the seal’s tightness.

  • Damaged Seals or O-Rings: These are the small rubber parts that create a tight seal in your tank. If they are damaged or worn out, e-liquid can easily seep out. Learn how to maintain your vape tank
  • Improper Assembly: Sometimes, parts of the vape are not tightened correctly. This might include the tank, the coil, or even the mouthpiece. Find out how to assemble your vape kit correctly
  • Overfilling the Tank: Filling your tank beyond the recommended level can cause e-liquid to leak out.
  • Coil Issues: A faulty or improperly fitted coil can cause leaks. If the coil isn't securely placed, or if it’s old and worn out, it may not hold the e-liquid properly. Read more about replacing coils

How to Fix E-Liquid Leaks:

  1. Check Seals and O-Rings: Inspect these small rubber parts for any signs of wear or damage. Replace them if necessary. It’s a good idea to keep spare O-rings handy.
  2. Avoid Overfilling: Fill your tank only up to the recommended level. Leave a small pocket of air at the top to prevent leaks.
  3. Tighten All Parts: Ensure all components, including the tank, coils, and mouthpiece, are securely fastened. Be careful not to overtighten, as this can damage the parts.
  4. Replace Faulty Coils: If you experience leaks frequently, the coil might need replacing. Check our Beginner’s Guide to Vape Coils to understand when and how to change them. Learn how to change your coil in our Beginner’s Guide to Vape Coils
